Monday, Oct 27 2025
Josh Geary has claimed victory at the Charles Tour Taranaki Open, finishing six-under-par to secure the title at New Plymouth’s Ngamotu Golf Club on Sunday afternoon.
The experienced PGA New Zealand professional held his composure through the final round to finish two shots clear of Tauranga’s Michael Kale.
It was the second time Geary had won the tournament, which is part of the Charles Tour event, his last coming in 2023.
New Plymouth’s own Dominic Barson produced a strong showing on his home course, finishing fourth at two-under-par.
Other top Taranaki golfers inclided Kaitake’s Brodie Ferguson placing 10th and New Plymouth Golf Club members Louie Wright and Jackson Moorhead finishing 12th and 18th respectively.
The event capped another successful week for the Charles Tour series, showcasing top-level golf talent from across the country on one of New Zealand’s most scenic coastal courses.
