Golf: Jones missed DP World Tour

Taranaki golfer Sam Jones has missed his DP World Tour card for next season by one shot at the ruthless Q School in Spain.

The left-hander unfortunately made 16 bogeys in his six rounds at Infinitum Golf (Lakes & Hills Courses), Tarragona, Spain won by Edoardo Molinari (Spain).

He ended up finishing tied 27th at 17-under after 411 shots over the six rounds.

If Jones, 27 had finished one shot better at 18-under he would have made the required top 21 players and qualified.

His best result was on the DP World Tour in 2024 was tied 10th at the Italian Open midway through the year.
