Lotto Central Federation League
GJ Gardner Homes Whanganui Athletic have been crowned Lotto Central Federation League Champions for 2022 after they got past Napier City Rovers 3-2 on Saturday at Bluewater Stadium with Anthony Bell scoring twice for Athletic and Sho Goto the same for Rovers. Watson Integrity PN Marist FC continue to occupy second place after they defeated Isles Construction Massey University FC 2-1 at the Massey campus with the loss dropping Massey down to fourth. Turbine Residential Ltd North End AFC have moved up into third with a 3-0 away win over ALH Gisborne Thistle, Lucian Armstrong bagging a brace. In the final match two goals from Liam Percy-Fysh has helped Alexander Electric Napier Marist win 2-0 when hosted by Levin AFC at Donnelly Park.
Women’s Federation League
Taradale AFC have also been crowned 2022 Champions in the Women’s Federation League after winning their final game of the season 5-0 against Team McGhie Football Whanganui with the goals being shared around. In the other match two late goals from NP Rangers AFC has given them a 2-0 home win over Isles Construction Massey University FC which has seen Rangers move equal on points with Massey in second but Rangers have a game in hand. PN Marist FC had the Bye for Round 14.
Taranaki Duchess Cup – Quarter Finals
Our four semi finalists have been found in the Duchess Cup after the Quarter Finals were completed on Sunday. NP Rangers AFC got past Liquid Beanz Peringa United 3-1 thanks to a brace from Reyse Andrews and Tungsten Legal Stratford AFC defeated Worley Woodleigh FC 9-0 with Oliva Bright scoring five goals plus two from Helen Connole. Both Moturoa AFC sides have also advanced with TSH Moturoa AFC winning 4-1 away to Hipp Accounting Hawera FC with Kate Phipps netting twice and Excel Refrigeration Moturoa AFC won 5-0 at home against NPGHS 1st XI thanks to a double from Fernanda Toscani.
Duff Rosebowl – Quarter Finals
Premiership side KP Joinery Waitara SC have booked themselves a Semi Final spot but it took them a penalty shootout victory 4-3 over Championship side Landmark Homes FDMC Senior Team after the teams finished full time and extra time at a 0-0 stalemate. Atlas Professionals NP Rangers AFC from the Premiership proved too strong for Inglewood AFC from the Championship as Rangers ran out 7-0 winners with all the goals being shared around. In an all Premiership battle at Onuku Taipari Domain Peringa United collected the away win 3-1 over TMT Building Ltd Moturoa AFC and in the final all Premiership game hat tricks to Connor Oliver-Rose plus Ethan O’Halloran was the different as FC Western advanced 8-2 when hosted by Novotel Woodleigh FC, Matthew Gillies getting a consolation brace.
Taranaki Nimmos Cup – Quarter Finals
Division 2 side Webber Building Kaitake FC HB’s have knocked over Division 1 side Withers Coachlines Moturoa AFC 4-3 in a close seven goal battle with Paul Cunningham picking up three goal for Kaitake including a last minute winner. Pipeline Peringa United also from Division 2 have done the same and won 5-2 away to Division 1 side Withers Coachlines FDMC Development Team thanks to a hat trick from Hoai Son Pham and brace from Atish Chand. Four goals from Luke Snellgrove has helped Taranaki Thru Tubing NP Rangers AFC pick up a 7-0 home win against McDonalds Real Estate Stratford AFC and in the final game between the join leaders of Division 1 it was FC Western Flaming Wolverines that advanced 2-0 when hosted by Shining Peak NP Rangers Oddbodz.
Taranaki Men’s Leagues – Catch Up Games
We had four catch up games on Saturday from several men’s leagues, Cross Country Rental NPBHS 2ndXI won 2-0 away at Spectrum Decorating Services Woodleigh FC in the Championship, Inglewood AFC drew 0-0 with Paul Hamlin Builders Eltham AFC from Division 1 and Rob Mason Electrical Group Woodleigh FC won 1-0 when hosting Peringa United Socials in Division 2. The final match was in Division 2 where Marty Suchy Harcourts FC Western are now just two points away from the title as they won 5-1 away at Inglewood AFC with Kayden Playle netting four goals to now have a six goal lead in the Golden Boot on 21 strikes.
